Exhaust manifold refacing..

Hi guys..

I've discovered my JX exhaust manifold is not quite straight. I've asked 2 local engineering shops, but neither of them could do it. Something about not getting it in the machine.

Is there a way I could do this myself? flat surface and some abrasive papers?

Or could someone recommend somewhere that could do it? I know there are a few engineering guys on here...

thanks :)

a Chris in dispair.... :ok

Sorry I don't quite under stand are you saying/mean by not straight? Do you mean the manifold is warped so it it blowing around the head or turbo. If so i have seen Ian (silverbullit) sorting these out at his workshop.

Sorry, it was a bit late when i posted that this morning.

Its a touch warped around the end flange, i've put it against a straight edge, and its visibly out by about .5mm

Thanks I'll drop Silverbullit a PM and see what the cost would be :)

A sturdy piece of kitchen worktop with emery cloth glued to it sorted a slightly warped one that I had. It will build up your muscles Arnie style though.

Ahh, sounds like a plan. I've a spare kitchen worktop in the garage :)
