We've discovers a slight issue with our T25 and our steep gravelly drive.

Now and again the van is sliding in trying to get out of the drive and is churning up the surface.

Has anyone else had this issue?
I'm thinking a set of off road tyres on the back may help, but not sure if this is wise in the long run.

We get the same thing - it's much worse trying to reverse uphill than go forwards, as weight transfer and simple gravity means the weight is off the driving wheels. I suspect off-road tyres wouldn't do much except churn up more gravel, as the problem is the friction between the gravel and the gravel underneath it, not the tyre and the gravel. I could be wrong but it might be a pricey experiment.

My solution is to rake the gravel back into the ruts afterwards.

I've already discovered the 'don't reverse option', even our old vitara struggles to reverse out.

I may have cracked it, I just needs to come out from a different part of the drive, that seems to have made it easier.

Are the T25s a little ungainly with anything but hardstandings? Slightly wet grass and a small incline scuppered it the other day. I'm beginning to think I may need to pack sand boards

Quite the opposite, ime - we've got to places, and on surfaces, that we really didn't think we had a cat in hell's chance of getting to.

As others have said - you're trying to get a two-ton 2wd vehicle up a gravelly incline. The gravel's moving against the gravel/undersurface, not the van against the gravel.

Wet grass is a different story - that's down to tyres. What tyres are you using? Are they M+S rated? (Most cheapy off-brands are, but most "proper" tyres aren't).

I expect mine fall into the cheapy camp!
