Hydraulic Clutch Hose Problem

I have been looking over a 1980 T25 with a 2.0l Aircooled engine which has been standing for many years with the intention of getting it back on the road.

Although most of the rubber hoses on the vehicle look to be in good condition, I have found one with a very ominous bulge. It is a short (20cm ish) length of flexible hose near to the gearbox, with connections to metal pipes at either end, one of which leads to what I assume is the clutch slave cylinder.

I would like to know whether this is a specific T25 part, or is it something which can be made generically as with copper brake pipes, for example.

Also, are there any other flexible hoses in the clutch system which I may not yet have found? I would like to inspect as many rubber components as possible, as everything else seems to be barely worn - it has only done 59,000 miles, which I trust is not much for these machines(?)

Many thanks,

Neil

you should be able to get the hoses off the shelf from the likes of GSF, JK, your local motor factor and vw dealership which is going to be cheaper than having one offs made unless you have the kit yourself. by the way where are you located only it doesn't say much in your profile

I really don't want to have to make them myself. Will try GSF and co. tomorrow. Thanks for the tip.

Are VW still able to supply most parts for T25s still? I got the impression that things like the mechanical fuel pumps were no longer available (see my other thread!)

Any other rubber hoses I should be looking out for? I have so far replaced all the fuel lines from main tank to carbs.

ps. I'm in NW London. Would maybe be good to see the interior of someone else's camper at some point as I have no idea how all the bits go together and move about!

I believe vw still do most of parts and i think you will find gsf do the fuel pumps, as for hoses that need replacing a common one are the hoses on the the fuel tank expansion tanks get a lot of muck and cr@p over them as they are in the front wheel arches and perish normally get a strong smell of fuel when topping the tank right up if they are kn@ckered

I don't think you'll get it at GSF or motor factors, but Just Kampers do 'em for about £30 plus postage.

This is the only hose in the clutch system.

As stated above, the breather hoses on the fuel tank can cause trouble due to perishing with age, you'll have to drop the tank to renew them.
