Hi,
Just looking at solar trickle chargers and there's a big difference in price and output. Would 12v 1.5W be enough to keep the van battery from hibernating when not in use for long periods or would it require a greater wattage?

Occasionally I leave my van for two weeks without use, on these ocasions I would often find the battery too drained to turn the engine over fast enough to start. 4/5 months ago I bought a £10 panel from Maplin which plugs into my lighter socket. I think it is only 1.5 watts and I was scepitcal at first but it appears to be just enough to keep it topped up and I have no problems starting since. I generally use my van at least once a week but from time to time leave it longer. The panel is suckered to the base of my windscreen in front of the dash pod.
