Drippy, drippy, drippy DJ

I think I've found one of the places we're losing some coolant from.

It's the block at the front/right of the engine bay, just next to the gear linkage. This is what Brickwerks call the Coolant Distribution Junction, right?

Looks to me like it's leaking from the end cap, rather than one of the hose connections - if this is the case, is this a "Sort NOW, before it goes pop" or a "Just keep topping it up, and it'll get no worse"?

The S-shaped hose from head to junction I can find, but it looks like the other two to it are the ones to the front - one heater (that's a single rubber all the way to the valve/matrix behind the dash, right?) and the one to the main front-rear pipe. Can't find that on BW - any suggestions, or is it just a length of standard straight hose?

Short fat hose to front to back pipe is N 902 873 03 , 38mm id, 150mm long, 4.5mm wall thickness £11 plus vat from VW, other one you id'd is heater send hose
generally they weep where the cap is plastic welded into body, Ian Silverbullet has done a repair kit ver1.01 I believe so far, we're awaiting developments

So a short length of off-the-shelf 38mm ID...

Oooh. That sounds EXACTLY where ours is weeping. Imminently fatal?

they just weep generally it's only 1bar pressure in there, k seal can be effective in that area, only downside with k seal I can see is the stuff can wear the water pump so maybe not the best idea where you are, unless you carry a spare, but if it's just a few weeps here and there it does a pretty good job, it's kept me from having to change engine for 3 years now - weepy head stud nut and water jacket seal and various small weeps on the system
