Right, i am crap at searching. Sure there was a thread a while back about what fits on a 16", can't find it though
i have got myself a set of alloys 16"-7" ET33

Does anyone know, or have a opinion on what the biggest tyre size i can fit on this rim with no body/trailing arm mods? Preferably with standard ride height as well

Think 29" tyre diameter from memory, try IG 16 hope they are not for offroad use otherwise your going to end up cracking them

yep, 29" is what i'm finding. So basically the same as i have now but wider

So after trawling the internet I found a site called tyrebible, and they state that a 205 80 16 tyre will fit a wheel of 5.5"-7" width. so looks like my tyres will be a straight swap well at least to see what they look like.
Info from the Samba about the alloys is that they are forged so very strong and thin, so should fit with standard wheel studs
This could work out quite cheap....

I'll measure(if I remember) the thickness of the alloy for you Lloyd so you know if you can get away with standard nuts/bolts.

If they are forged ones (and it looks like they are), thats a very nice set of wheels. The merc ones everyone on the samba rave over, which are very similar to these only weigh 13lbs! From what i understand 225 / 75 / 16 should go nicely on them

225 75 16 would be a good tyre size, but no different in circumference to what i have now. And from what i've been reading on the net 205 80 16 will fit on the rims as well (safely, as they are OE fitment by a few manufacturers on a 7" rim)
I would like a slightly wider tyre at some point, so may buy a set at some stage in the future, or if they look good on the alloys, i could all ways get a set of muds for my steels..

What are you doing about spare wheel and tyre so you match rolling diameter?
Interested myself in this conundrum, as many alloy wheel sets are for 4 only, so not sure what to do for 5th or even 6th.

I had 7 of the same wheels so Lloyd's bought 5 of them.

Lloyd....the alloys are 7mm in thickness.

yes lloyed 205 80 16"s are fine on standard 16" rims ...got a set here all dressed in new rubber

But I do wish people included in advert if more than 4 are available, as I immediately scroll past those that say 4 for sale as I assume a modern set will only have 4 plus a useless spacesaver spare.

Xriss, I have the 205/80/16's on my steels already. Sounds like the same tyre will fit on the 7" alloys as well.

I ended up having to buy two sets of 7 x 15 ProjektZwo alloys to get a 5th and 6th wheel. Individual wheels like those sell for silly money on E Bay
