Solex twin carbs problems

1.9 Aircooled auto with twin carbs.

The van is running really rich with a high tickover in neutral and park.

Looking at the Haynes book of lies it looks like I have a part missins (pilot air jet). Should there be something on this part (pic1)? The area has an aluminium cover on the slave carb but not the master.

It appears I haven't got this section of the Bentlays manual (electronic version) so I also need to know how to set the carbs and choke up.

Or is there anyone in the Woking, Guildford area that can set the carbs up?

Any help much appreciated

Hello,

Chances are that you will find there are no holes drilled in that bit of the casting.

I see you have the idle enricher, Top ally plate with an electrical tag.

Sometimes the resistance has burnt out.

Order of tuning an engine...valves...timing..carbs.

A video to help you,..

Hope this will help.

To do this yourelf you will need all the tools, ie: strobe, dwell meter, vacuum gauges, CO analyser...

I'm sorry I'm too far away to help
