Advice in removing Autosleeper Decals

I appreciate there's a thread about removing flower decals, but I can't find one that relates specifically to the original Auto-Sleeper decal/stripes. Ours are looking decidedly tatty and we want to either remove or replace them. Can anyone who has done it for themselves recommend the easiest and best way to remove them please.

All advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Charlie.

Can be tricky without having the underlying paint coming off aswell.
try heating the stripe up with a hot air stripper but NOT on a very high setting then peeling back, keep the heat on it all the time.

Had a go a while back using a hot gun. Took my time and peeled of slowly. Still took the paint off. Also leaves grubby marks on paintwork.

So go slow and careful

You need to get "Hagesan floor glue remover - extra strong" Dab it on using an old cloth. Then using a plastic pallet knife (like the wall paper removing knife but cheap and plastic from B+Q).get scraping carefully. Most comes off, wipe it off with a cloth and then just a spray of white spirit and the glue is gone. Did 3 stripes from around the whole van a few weeks ago with no issues at all. Took 2 days and I've just put the identical graphics back on, but now they're crisp and new with no crazing and cracks. :D

Once you get the decals off you can use a caramel wheel attached to a drill to remove the glue. Just be sure to have a light touch and keep it moving.

Thanks for the advice re the burgundy, I just assumed it was a decal, but now looking at it I can see what you mean.
