Best way to remove the quarter light glass from doors?

Hi
I am doing a switchover of door fittings from my knackered old rusty door, to a bargain rust free version I grabbed from eBay. £21 !
I was going to leave all of the glass until I realised both door windows old and new had the reg plate security etched into the glass, and my OCD wouldn't let me leave them incorrect!
So I have stripped the mechanism from the new door, only bit I am struggling with is the small non opening quarter light glass and seal. It seems totally locked in with friction by the look of it. I don't want to damage the seal if I can help it, because it's in good nick and I would like to use it again.
Is there a method for getting these windows out?
Cheers all
Dave
