Hi guys I noticed there's a few people mentioning about seat re-trims in random threads on here so I thought I would set a dedicated one up to help them, me and anyone else looking to have their seats re-trimmed in the future.

So ... has anyone had theirs done recently? - if so, do you have pics of seats, prices and details of where you had it done?

Also, I am looking to have all the seats in my T25 re-trimmed shortly and am wondering if anyone has any good ideas of what I could have done that they think would look good or have seen around somewhere or material etc? ... also can you recommend anywhere or offer alternatives? I'm open to all suggestions! To get the thread started, I found this site:

and after requesting a quote and sending them pics of me Bernard they said "for the front seats and rear it would be around £750. Depending on the final design etc." which seams a little extautionate ... I was thinking around £350-£500?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

My quote was for vinyl ... I put forward an interest in the red and white seats you can see on that link with the logo in the headrest ... my quote was however without headrests or arms as I have none. Don't you think that price seems a little steep? ... my mate had all the seats re-trimmed in his 206 for £350 and there's not that much more cushion in the T25 ... I awaiting 2 more quotes ... one from Cardiff and one Pembrokeshire. I will keep the thread updated!

Done these myself, leatherette around £5/mtr and many vw materials available......i have seen so
E very good value covers for self fitting in vin which are around £130- for both front seats.

When you called up the place that did that, what did they quote you for doing your van?

Aww wow, how long did that take you to do? ... Did you do all sewing etc.? I have had a look at some cover kits I found but I haven't been able to find anything other than grey and brown

... How did you attach those pics?

Paulo, I haven't yet had a quote off them, that is one I am waiting to hear back from in Pembrokeshire. I will update as soon as I find out!

Sewing machine unpick and take off old covers carefully then lay sections flat nto new material, mark out where to cut then cut out and mark where to sew together. Its really not hard and like most things all you need is a bit of confidence to get started and once you realise its not a 'dark art' its easy. there are more advanced ways but ive not studied it. To post pics i use an Iphone application called Tappatalk which allows you to post pics directly from your phone!

Hey, where did you get your VW materials from? ... girl friend has got a sewing machine so may give that a go before forking out a bomb for someone else to do it!?

I didn't get vw materials but if u want some try googling Gunzl vw

Up my way. Birmingham or Leicester rag markets are the place to find your cloth. I imagine there will be one not too far from you. You can spend a fun morning going through all the different materials, deciding what will look right and is within your budget. Do remember, if you buy vinyl, any holes made by sewing machine needle are permanent whereas cloth is more forgiving and available in an almost endless range of colours and finishes.

I'm about to start work on my interior. I need to renew all the door cards as the first job, closely followed by seats.

I had my furnishings and doorcards reupholstered by traffic trim
The work is very good, and it is not just recovering they reupholster where needed.


I would expect to pay what you thought for recovering.
reupholstering is a different thing

Wow, fair play mate, your interior looks mint! That's vinyl you had done is it?

I'm finding it an absolute nightmare trying to decide on what colours / materials go best let alone everything else! :S

Have got to that stage, where coverings are required.


However, I am out of cash, and by the looks of things, to upholster this would cost about £750-£1k.
So have decided to ask the wife to do a bit of stitching. We are going to try a double duvet cover as this is only £10.
Will let you know how this looks.
We have already re covered the door and side cards using Black fabric sticking with fabric glue. This went very well, and they look fine. That cost about £100...ouch.
