Hello,
I have a westfalia california poptop.
After april rains i noticed some water unter the mats in the cabin. O a sunny day i wiped it out, put some newspaper and dried it. Today i open my van - same situacion as before, the carpet is soaking wet. Where should i start looking for the leak?
Could it be the roof not assembled properly after a respray? Could it be front window seal, as mine does not have the crome insert (was too ugly to put it back)?
Ideas?

My moneys on the windscreen.A very common problem.The metal rots under the seal allowing water ingress.You will need to remove the screen to be certain.

Well i had a full body resto done, so all the windows were out. And the metal under them cleaned and treated, so no holes there. I am wondering wether the windom rubber without the insert is watertight enough...

Without the insert in the windscreen rubber won't be sealing properly - why wasn't it replaced, it's cheap enough? (£1.25/metre from seals direct)

, did you refit the old rubber I always cut the screen rubbers out and bin them , fit new genuine every time . if you want to save some cash then fit a plain front seal, but again buy genuine,

I thought you meant you replaced the chrome strip rubber with the non chrome strip rubber.Why would you re use the old rubber minus the strip anyway?

Firstly, the resto was caried out not in Britain. Back there i could not get ANY new parts. So i used whatever i could get in good condition. If i had bought rubber inserts from any internet shop, i would have waited several weeks for them to reach the bus. Now i have my bus in the UK so I will try to find a good quality rubber set for all the windows or buy just the insert.

Ahhh , not got the club xtal ball so didnt figure that . where'd you have it done as in which farflung country.
