Windscreen washer pump faulty?

The windscreen washer pump on my T25 is not working, but as the rest of the wipers are I'm assuming it can only be either a loose connection or a faulty pump. My question is, assuming I cannot find a loose connection is there anyway I can test the pump without having to potentially buy a possibly unnecessary replacement?

Any assistance/advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Charlie.

can you hear it trying to pump? the washer hoses can get gunked up. If you cant hear it, check the fuse, its fuse 11 on a later van. Also check your earth crowns https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/VW ... bad_earths" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
if still no joy come back.

its just as likely the stalk switch as the pump, and more likely the wire.

run a wire to the pump straight from the battery to test the pump..... if it works, bypass the switchgear, if that dont make it go, its the wire......

Ours stopped working because the switch was full of bellybutton fluff and other assorted gunge :shock: , cleaned the contacts et voila, mange tout etc.

Thanks for all your advice. As we're off tomorrow for a week in the New Forest I'm going to try to sort it when we get back. Sod's law with me says if I start messing around with it now, something's sure to go wrong!!!!! As it's our first trip away since buying it, will probably find other bits and pieces needing doing. :ok

Wave as you pass Southampton, and those pumps are relatively cheap (under a tenner) if you do need one.
