Any idea what this part is call please. My mate needs to by a replacement and need to find out what its called to order a new part.

also if you could advise me on where i could buy this part from please,
its the water exit connection coming from the engine and connecting to the hose returning towards the radiator.
on a JX engine

vw probably call it a manifold/switch housing. It is where the hot water from the cylinder head flows to your heater circuit. Check to see how many switchs(sensors) it has before ordering. cheers

You mean the flange on the end of the block/head? I'm struggling a bit with photo.

Its the part connected to the engine, like a union for the water hose. near where you can see the green wire

Its a...T3 diesel water flange small, Brickwerks have them [£4.50]

A common failing on the 1.6/1.8 VW Golf/Scirocco engines too .... they suffer from thermostathousingitis where the mild steel sleeves rust, expand and crack the plastic.
