My sisters van refuses to start so check the usual get to petrol, hum strange filters are empty, check replace filters and hose, still nothing, ok, new pump, still nothing , suckit through all you get is about say 1/10th of a filters worth ok so take hose off off tanNk(tank about 1/4 full )

nothing comes out now does it only come out when pulled by the pump or should gravity push it out?
Tank is fairly new say 4 years old fitted by previous owners so no suspecting rust
have blown into tank and it bubbles/gurgles inside?
aNY IDEAS?

Andy,
If you are going by the fuel gauge and its showing 1/4 tank then its probably empty! Go get some fuel as my gauge is next to useless when it gets that low,
i.e whilst travelling along a flat road it will go from 1/4 to below the red for just a wiggle of the wheel!
When i get to 200 miles, fill it up or else!
Good luck.
Mark.

Oh and another thing to try Andy,
This is at your own peril though!*
Get a fuel container and some spare fuel pipe, stick it in the container and connect the the other end to the input side of your fuel pump - if it don't start then
the fault ain't with fuel.
Simples!
Mark.
* this could invalidate your life and burn your house down!

LOL THOOSE LITTLE GREEN CANS
guys we are out there now if we blow up the outlet of the tank it clears and flows nicely but then like straight away the flow stops?
i cant see it being rust as the outlet is so high up the tank unless theres a pick up with a strainer thats got rust/debris in it?

Hello,
Petrol filter on back to front?
Petrol pipes round the wrong way at the pump?
Vicious alien gremlins
Keep trying, it'll start eventually...
And then the problems begin

Hiya....might be totally wrong here....but remember reading I think that some petrol tanks have a baffle inside....I think its for the injected engines....what if you have the wrong tank and the baffle has become loose?
Have you tried the magnet trick to convince anything loose to move away from the outlet??
How long has this tank been on, and has it been working ok before?
Well weird

Just a thought.....is the petrol exit on the tank in the same place as yours? You said it was high......Dunno how much petrol those little green things hold....has the petrol reached the outlet??
