Hi all, we've recently just purchased a Hitop Komet and it came with a really old Electrolux 120 fridge that's 12v or gas. A relay system had been fitted so it ran when the van was running and stopped when it wasn't. We want to get a newer 3 way one and just wondered if wiring up was as easy as just swapping over what's there for the 12v/gas and just connecting up the 240v part to the MCB? Also is there an easy way to run the fridge on 12v when the van is not running?

Are they a pain to remove as we kinda tried when sorting out a couple of problems with the relay and it seemed well held

Not quite as simple as that. According to the RM120 instructions pdf in the club downloads section here http://www.club80-90.co.uk/pages/downlo ... /Rm120.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; both the 12v and gas connection are at the bottom rear of the unit. The connections on the three way RM212 are all on top of the unit and if it has electronic ignition it has two separate 12v supplies. The 240v side is just a flex with a plugtop on it so you need a socket next to your consumer unit (usually in the adjacent cupboard to the fridge)

No you can't do that - well you can, but your battery will be useless in next to no time as the fridge consumes almost 9 amps at 12v.

Yes they are if you don't know where all the fixings are. I can post you pictures of how I removed mine if you want but remember that mine is the three way......

Thanks 1664, I think if I can get it working on gas okay then I'll just leave it as it is. It seems to work really well when the van is on so be a shame to chop it in, although looks tired.
