i need some advice, after my first day out off-road i was totally impressed with my doka, everything worked as it should and it was a great day but i did feel that i needed a bit more ground clearance, at the moment it is totally standard apart from a set of mefro`s and some 215 75 15 grabbers, i`ve got a set of go westy springs on the shelf and have just received a set of oe shocks from brickwerks but im unsure about how my cv joints will handle a 2" lift and would rather not lay out 500 euros for a set of h.duty cvs. anyone got some experience they would like to share???

I have a mild lift (shims front and rear 15 or 20mm can't recollect) on my pickup with std. joints and it's just about OK. The total lift is about 1". I've seen slight signs of contact of the rear CV centre part on the output flanges, and the rear dampers can top out occasionally, but otherwise no detrimental effects. You may as well bolt on the nice new suspension you've got and see how it goes.

the plan was to get some shock extenders from futbus at least then i will be over the topping out problem and then i suppose its going to be learning by doing.

Don the porsche 944 CVs provide more articulation?

i was going through the same thoughts as you when i ordered and then fitted the seikel springs as they clame to give up to a 40mm lift over standard. if you cv joints are in good condition they should be fine, with no damage being caused. but if they are worn then problems could become apparent. i have no toping out with my springs, my advice would be to fit the springs and shocks and if there is a problem with toping out then buy the skock extenders.

Std springs "TD" spacers on the rear (20mm ish) some 20mm spacers on the front.. std shocks will be fine on rear, fronts could do with a little sleeve to stop any topping out there..
I wouldnt fit shock extenders and use std cv's personally...
The westy springs may be ok, but unless you are always loaded up they could be a bit stiff so actually reduce articulation..

Mine works very well offroad and on road empty or loaded... (I do have the Brickwerks AVO long rear shocks and HD cv's bu they were fitted after I lifted it...)

Mine is lifted with a Syncro Services kit with 16" shocks up front and longer Trailmasters on the rear. CV joints are standard and I have no issues at all with them.

How much loger do the trail masters go? the AVO's seem to go a looong way... I'll jack a corner up and measure the arch to stub axle center at the weekend..
Maybe the CV angle thing is as bad as it seems.. mine needed doing anyway so it was an easy choice...

i will just put them on and hope for the best!!!
