Awning fixing help please.

I have just bought a Khyam Autodome awnng second hand and just wondering if anyone can advise me on how to fix it to the gutter rail of my T25. The van came with a long pole wth a bit of thin rope running through the middle of it which we were told was for use with an awning.
Do I need to get figure of eight clips? I have seen this method when I have questioned it online.
Thanks in advance for you help (new to all this - only bought van in March!)

Oooooh......I await the answers to this too.
I have used the figure of eight tracks but they are a beggar to put on and keep ripping the gutter trim off. There must be an easier way!

I am probably being really thick but how do the clips work? I have seen them on JK.

A plastic tube threads through your awning and then you clamp it to the gutter with those.
Simples!

On the kyham from memory you have a thick round section edge to the gusset, there is no material loop through which to pass a pole. I used a plastic figure 8 to attach it to the gutter. I had no gutter trim though. It did fall off from time to time. You had to be a bit careful in positioning the awning so the sliding door didn't catch it when opening as well. if you have a high top you could fit an L section bracket to accept the figure 8, pop riveted on. Or attach a c section to attach straight to the edge of the gusset, this would be more permanent fixture, and you may need to move the awning/van to attach detach the gusset if you want to drive off, depends on the length of the c section how close you park height of bracket that sort of thing.

We bought a used Kyham Motordome (I'm guessing it's about 4-5 years old) recently. It came with the figure of 8 strip but it is quite fiddly. We've got a pole and clamp kit from our old awning but there's no gusset for it to pass through on the Kyham (although I think the new ones seem to have this?). I was thinking about sewing something on so we can use the pole and clamp but I'd probably bodge it up.

You should fit a 'J' rail to the side of your hitop or poptop, our's is about 5" above the gutter and this gives a good shape to the bellows allowing it to drain.
If you have a tintop you need to get a roof to fit it to

OK then...
I used the pole and fixings as suggested above when we went to Santa Pod last weekend. The pole sits with about an inch gap between itself and the van, meaning that the rain still drips in, and I want to use the awning to avoid this happening
Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone got any pics to show how the pole attaches to the van?

The pole just sits in the gutter so there's no gap and is clamped in place.
