my 1.9 dg engine was rebuilt less than 5000 miles ago but "pooh" gfs gasket kit the rubber head gasket bit failed one side lucky enough it didn't boil as i saw it on drive, so now stuck in catch 22 do i rebuild strip put new rubbers in and sell as is or do you think its worth polishing all the crank case and heads and inlet manifold to mirror finish and then see what intrest it gets??? dunno how desirable it would be polished engines suppose it'd be good for shows etc??
so i don't get told off again this not an add but may appear in the correct for sale section once got few opinions cheers

Personally, if you can waste the time and effort polishing it, either you are
a professional polisher without enough work..
addicted to the compounds your using..
Or just dont go camping enough...
Fix it properly and enjoy, a polished DG might attract some interest, but lets face it, it aint pretty...

Polished engine? In a vehicle where for the most part you never see the engine bay? Not sure this computes.

I think a mirror polished engine is a great idea, that way you can see the source of the oil that will be inevitably sharted out of it seconds after finishing the job.

Just get it as clean as kevs and you will be able to see any oil leak.
