I am hoping to join the T25 Owners Club, I have found a van that is for sale but the bodywork is worrying me. Its a 1988 1.6 Diesel. The interior is a little tired and mechanically it looks good. However it has the usual bodywork problems, rust below the screen, both footwells have holes in them, holes underneath in both rear foot wells and at the bottom of the column between the sliding door and passenger door.

It all looks a little more serious than I like but we intend buying this van for a god few years use. If the repairs are manageable then we would be tempted to buy. Any advice appreciated. We are in West London.

If its £450- and you can weld then buy it, if you can't weld or are not interested in learning you'll spend xxxx on this van and then xxxc on repairs and serious bodywork afterwards. Have a look at a few more including the classifieds on this forum and the brickyard. There are still some reasonable bans out there that are not as rusty. Sorry to put a downer on it but if u multiply the rust you can see by a further 30 percent then u can start to see that the footwells and other visible bits are the edge of your iceberg. You could put a wanted add up on here?? Tim

As ^^^^ says, for 450 I would buy it, wehter or not you do is another matter but have a look here

now some bits on this are not applicable to your one but i guarantee you 100% your one is worse, it really does depend on how much you want tied up in the van at the end of the day ,

Thanks for the advice, after a nights sleep I was coming to a similar conclusion. We do not have the space to learn welding so I will pass on this one. He was asking nearer 5K which looks very optimistic.

you have to be joking, well maybe not , for 450 yes and spend 4k and yes it will be worth that and a nice van, pity the fool that pays that for it
