I've taken off the front panel for the heater controls, but can't work out how to remove the actual levers.

They're just a friction fit - so you should be able to just yank them off the metal stubs they are attached to.
(I accept no liability for any damage caused by these comments )

Cheers mate, worked it out in the end (after a long time of looking for clips, grub screws etc) lol... pair of pliers and yank!
