T25 Westy - Distribution Unit Advice - Zig, PMS etc...?

Hello :-)

I've only recently bought my T25 so am a bit of a novice regarding all this :)

My T25 has a leisure battery fitted, but isn't actually wired up to anything. I also have a mains hookup point, which is connected to an RCD mini consumer unit, then to a socket.

I'm looking for a bit of advice on which power management unit would best suit my needs...

I would like (if possible :D ) : -

To charge leisure battery from alternator when engine is running
To charge leisure battery from mains hookup (when connected)
12v outputs : to the fridge (RM122 - which is currently only working on gas), some 12v lighting, and possibly a water pump in the future

I may also in the future like to replace my old RM122 with a slightly more modern looking RM123, so would like a permanent mains 240v output (instead of having a trailing lead from the fridge to mains socket)

I've been looking around and have found a couple of units which I believe would do what I want. These are a Zig CF9, or a PMS3. (From what I can gather, I believe the Zig CF8 is the same but without a mains output?)

Would these units suit my needs? Which one is most recommended? Are there any other types of dist. unit?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :ok

E D I T the title of your post to include the word 'Westy' as it will attract other westy owners who are more familiar with the westy set up. You should have something they refer to as a BBB aka buzzing black box that does charging off mains I think. Best for them to advise you though :wink:

PMS3 includes 230v breakers. Its 12v battery switch allows you to select and charge leisure or vehicle battery from 230v.
You would still need seperate relays to control split charging and the 12v fridge while the engine is running.

Cheers guys :)

There's bugger all electrics installed in the back of my bus :( Not sure why somebody has removed them without replacing (or it may not have been installed in the first place!) I'll have to get some pics up to show.

I've been looking at the wiring diagram for the PMS3... looks pretty straight forward. Linky: http://www.tonhauser.com/rubbersoul//im ... Manual.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What route would one take with cables between the batteries/alternator etc, at the moment, the factory installed cables look as if they run underneath the bus from the main battery??
