The backbox (silencer) of my exhaust has gone it's totally blown the end where the tailpipe comes out. I'm going to try to bodge it back in with a repair kit...

however, I would prefer to replace it...

Holding it onto the two inputs are two studs (with bolts on) are these studs part of the replacement unit? (could I cut these and replace the backbox as they are very rusted...)

Please help... I'm ment to be going on our only holiday this year on Sunday.. :O(

Doh!

Its a 1970cc watercooled DG (petrol)

I've just had a quote from Sterling Garage here in Newbury (very experienced with vans and bugs) Parts = £90 then £42 per hour for as long as it takes...

lets just hope that its a quick one!
