Morning all (just..)

Has anyone got any recommendations for a decent satnav unit for our upcoming trip to France? I have a paper map which i use primarily, but maybe a good idea to get a satnav me thinks.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a smartphone then Co Pilot is pretty good and a lot less expensive than splashing out on a stand alone Satnav.

TomtomOne Europe works for us.

Indeed you can.

And if you have an Android phone and know where to look you can get it for free.

Get yourself a Nokia N97, not the best phone Nokia ever made, quite far from it, but it comes with lifetime free voice and sat nav, and you can use it offline too, simply download all the maps you need over wifi whilst at home prior to your trip, and your good to go. You can even add POI's too at home, and they will show via your navigation.

We've just up graded to this and its great. If youve had a sat nav in the past, this will make it look old tech pretty quickly, its impressive how things have moved on in 5 years or so.
We bought it because it was very well reviewed by the WHICH? people and we love it.
We used it through spain and no problems, all the maps are preloaded.

Half of northern Europe are wandering round lost as we speak because of Vermin satnavs :pimp

Note that some are Western Europe whilst others are Full Europe.....helps just in case you go further a field like Poland for instance.

I second the recommendation for Garmin or Tom Tom.
