I know folks ae generally cautious about security discussions but wonderd if anyone would tell me which cable / circuit from the coil (1.9 DG) could be most safely 'switched' without risk of switch or cable burning out etc. Thanks. Am also thinking immobiliser more use than a noisy, irritating and generally ignored alarm? NB Been a spate of van thefts round my area London N16 and thinking that expensive and fancy systems not always the best deterrent to tealeaves. cheers.

If it's a later petrol engined vehicle I guess a simple solution would be to remove the fuel pump relay fuse and make up a small descrete harness and switch with two male spade connectors replacing the fuse itself (use an inline fuse somewhere in the harness).
Basically forcing the feed through the harness and switch making the operation of the fuel pump 'switchable'

Hi, thanks Martin, the DG has mech pump- I have considered fitting an electric one simply to be able to cut off fuel!! Hate idea of fancy alarms that no one notices.....
