Are the two holes in the front spoiler shown by the arrows an integral part of the aerodynamics and therefore vital to it's function, or just two ideally placed openings just crying out to be filled by fog lights?

I read somewhere that they are to help with the cooling of the brakes
I have also see and read about folk filling them with spotlights

I was talking to bessie the camper at the weekend about this , I have a set in my grill on the LT , I think mine are VW , but these are very similar

and onto the second half of my query - will the required wiring be present in the wiring loom in spite of the vehicle not having had front fogs factory fitted? The haynes manual shows the wiring going to connectors on each side of the van marked T2a and T2b although the lights L22 and L23 are not fitted obviously (see diagram).



I've looked at the back of the fog lights switch and certainly all the wiring is present there for switching a set on the front of the vehicle.



the Haynes describes the location of the connectors as being "behind upper air outlet trim left" and "behind upper air outlet trim right"

any ideas? I think I'm just going to remove the front grills and have a rummage about unless anyone can translate that technospeak into Coventrish for me?

Ok had a quick rummage with grills, lights and indicators removed and can't find FA. The relay is also missing from the fusebox position 7 (No 15 relay) but I think the wiring from the switch is present. I'll have another look another time, but in the meantime here's a piccy of roughly what the lamps would look like when fitted.

I'll give 'em weeks to live, no more than that. We were scraping our front spoiler regularly - and it turned out to be mainly filler, ally & pop rivets thanks to previous owners doing exactly the same.

I don't think I've scraped it more than a couple of times in all the years I've had the van to be honest - and only slight scrapes at that. Why do you have filler on yours? Mine is a flexible plastic rather than GRP or similar; do you have a single piece one?

We were scraping ours left, right and centre - entrances to campsites or carparks, steep junctions, on and off ferries, all sorts of places.

Why do you have filler on yours?

To "replace" the missing and cracked bits of plastic.

Nope - three-piece flexible plastic, just the same as yours.
