Hi All

My westy has a vanity mirror with a light around it in the sun visors. The left one works fine, but the right one won't light up. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this? is it likely to be an led bulb that needs replacing?

There's two festoon style lamps in there (the same type as in the cab courtesy light that come on when you open the doors). The outer plastic diffuser surounding the mirror glass prises off (without cracking if you're careful) and you will be able to gain access and replace the blown lamp.

Thanks. We gave it a go, I used a palette knife to go all round the edge but it seems pretty stuck on. It started to look as if it was going to crack so we've just decided to leave it alone.

Actually the plastic is tougher than you might think but knowing where the release tabs are positioned is half the battle; 3 along the top and two along the bottom. You can see the outer tabs in this rear view of the mirror and surround. Run the knife (or a flat screwdriver) along till you hit one and lever to pop out; then move to the next one etc.

I gave you a bit of a bum steer I'm afraid; they are a festoon lamp like in the cab door courtesy lights but they are much smaller. 30mm instead of over 40mm.



and be careful you don't drop the plastic surround with the mirror once you've removed it as this can cause annoying cracking in one corner
