1.6 diesel sump gasket (CS engine)

Hi all
I am new here my T25 1.6 diesel has sprung an oil leak from the sump area has anyone ever replaced a sump gasket on CS engine

Welcome
It's no problem. But when you put it back on, leave the bolts into the engine block a bit slack till you have pulled the sump forward tight to the gearbox, then tighten them up fully. Slacken the bolts to the gearbox to relieve the stress, then do them up again. If you don't do this it's possible to crack the lugs off the sump, and that's expensive.

Thanks for the tips its good to get some un-bias advise from people who have done this before, is there much to remove after I have taken the tin ware off?

Hi, new to this forum as well. Have bought a vw t25 1.6 diesel but not sure if the right dipstick is in it. Any chance anyone got a picture of a correct one to put up so i can check. thanks

Not really. IIRC there is an exhaust bracket, an oil filler pipe, probably a load of black oily stuff and a few spiders, but nothing scary......unless you're arachnophobic.
