Hi club80-90

I Have four old hub caps with a plastic covering which has started to come away. We tried taking off all the plastic and just polishing the metal. It works but is there a way to stop it from rusting in the elements?

Something like this wouild probably do the trick, at least til you pick up a stone chip and you get rust spots appearing, It'd look good for a while though.
