We often thought we would like a dark(ish) green camper, though I ain't going to re-paint either of ours !
Reason (other than we like Green) is to be more inconspicuous when wild camping.

So, has anyone ever had any experience of using a camouflage net that is large enough to cover a Hi-Top camper ?

I ask because I am aware that they are a "net" with quite large holes and I suspect they might get tangled up easily and "catch" on every wing mirror, aerial, door handle and twig in sight ! I like the idea but don't want to buy one and find it is a pain in the butt in use !

I've thought about this for a while, should work I would have thought.

btw, found similar but much cheaper on Ebay, search for both "camo" and "camouflage" nets

I suppose the army cover tanks n stuff with them and tanks have lots of sticky out bits

I'd be working on the assumption that if I had to pretend not to be there I shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I think a camo net will make you look like a terrorist.

Yes I'm with Ian, I'm all for wild camping but I think you might be more conspicuous with a camo net than just parked up.

If you are in an area you can park, just close the curtains and keep your head down or front up to it and state your rights to park overnight. By trying to hide you are sending a message to everyone else that you recognise you shouldn't be there and giving them the confidence to move you on.

Be bold find somewhere legal to park and sit it out. My only problem with wild camping is that a stroppy police officer may have the upper hand if you have been drinking and are unable to move the vehicle legally.

Best bet is to find somewhere that doesn't offend the neighbours.

There is nowt wrong when camping in a country wood (with permission) to try and blend in a bit.

Gill and I often do a spot of bird watching and a dirty great white van does not help the shy little beggars confidence.

And a camo net would have been appropriate there, it was in the depths of rural Derbyshire and the land is owned by an old family farmer friend. Lovely spot

yes that does look a great location, very envious.

Your friendly farmer would probably appreciate you using a camo net, because if I saw you camped up there, I would think it was fair game for me to use on another occassion. I concede that in those circumstances a camo net could be useful.

We stayed 2 nights and saw tree creepers = lots of, woodpeckers, 2 Jays plus all the usual LBB's (Little Brown Birds) as well, oh and although we did not see it, there was an owl in the wood making it's owl'y noises most of the night ! What we did not see was another soul or another vehicle for the entire 2 days

You could always turf it. And when you mow it twice a year you'll get that lovely 'fresh cut grass' smell
