Got me some split stainless pipes fom Brickwerks.....
Do I still need to drop the fuel tank to fit these?

Nope, that's why they are split.

Just done this on my van, fit offside first and they will go in and make sure that they are twisted into the correct position and do not fowl they gearshift rod especially in reverse or 1st on a 5 speed. hth

It's much easier if you drop the tank, it's not that hard to do as long as it's nearly empty, there is a big jubilee clip holding the pipes in place just inside the crossmember at the rear of the tank that is an absolute ***** to remove. When I did mine I spent longer trying to break that clamp than I would have spent removing the tank

sorry for spelling mistake it should be foul not chicken , although if a chicken gets in the way of the gearshift it would still be a bad thing

Off topic = When I was a kid we had chickens. We set off in Dads car and 5 miles into the journey my dad had to stop to investigate a noise under the bonnet. He found one of our chickens in there It was unhurt, just scared and spent the rest of that daytrip in the boot !

All done and dusted.......

Hardest bit was getting the old ones out, without dropping the tank.
