George the Kettle is no more

Hi to all those who have helped me through the trials and woes of getting George not to boil over and to sort the temp gauge.

I have run the bus around this morning and we seem to be maintaining a constant half way point on the temp gauge and the coolant level is remaining constant.

So a very big thanks to all concerned and if anyone would like to know any of the background and solutions I found I would be happy to pass these on.

Cheers, Paul & family.

I thought for a minute George had expired in a big way!!

Well done Paul, a tribute to your perseverance, and cheerful nature.
Hope you'll have many happy times in him.

Paul
give it a good run around , and keep an eye on the top up tank(behind the no. plate) if there is any air left in the system then it will make its way to there , top it up if you need to

Sharing the solution on here would probably be the most useful thing you could do - helps the next time someone has an overheating problem and searches on the board for it :D

Hi Mike & Mark,

as stalwarts of the "get George going support group" I thank you. Will keep a very close eye on the coolant and will be using him for local trips for the next 2 weeks to make sure all is well. (bound to back on here shortly!! )

DH would be happy to share - whats the best way, just post it up or do I have to put it in the wiki by some means? :D

PS: went to local companies workshops to finish our float for the village carnival next Sat, ran like a dream and I grinned all the way there and back - even got a wave from a T2 coming the other way - white over blue, hope valley 0930 Sunday - you know who you are, cheers fella.
