Taking the van out for it's first run since the restoration next week and wondered if anyone fancied meeting at Joes VW beach bar in Ingoldmelds for a few beers and a free night by the beach?

What is Joes VW beach Bar?...Not too far from me, so it could be fun to use this summer.

it's a VW themed bar right on the beach in Ingoldmelds, Joe actually owns a mile long part of the beach that he lets customers stay on overnight for free. There's always entertainment on a saturday night usually quite a few vw's to look over. I've been a couple of times with our local club and it's a nice cheap night away. (good food aswell)

Might see you there depending on weather! Only just warmed up after last weekends camping trip.

I live near Ingoldmells and personally I wouldn't park my pride and joy anywhere near that place. Doubly so on a weekend.

I would rather head further up the coast and pitch up on the beach at Huttoft terrace.

Probably for the best. Drunken nob head holiday makers + shiney VW paintwork = a strong chance of extreme violence.

Plus there's nothing VW themed about it. It's just a bar by the beach. The only thing remotely VW is the old vinyl wrapped Beetle which he uses for advertising.

Last time some friends of mine went for a "free" night someone came round in the morning trying to collect money for a nights camping. They were told go go forth and multiply and none of us have been there since.

Thanks for the heads up, seeing as I just sprayed i'll stay away. I'll give huttoft a try next time. I reckon the van wasn't that keen on going there anyway.

Huttoft is brilliant. I've spent many a summers night down there with a few beers and the barby fired up. There's also Moggs Eye and another couple of cracking spots along the same stretch of coast.
