Sorry if I've missed this earlier in the thread but what's the best thing to use on plastic, like bumpers or fuel caps? Mine are all looking a bit dull and in need of a spruce up.

Thats a different question from rollering entirely. Best posted as a fresh thread otherwise it'll clog this one and plastics treatments are subject of their own. Cheers.

Autoglym bumper restorer always works for me. Good on red turned pink Westy pop tops too.

somebody last week told me peanut butter - crunchy, the roughness of the peanuts helps scour the surface and the oil oils it

don't shoot the messenger

on tv's "superscrimpers" they recommended black boot polish for black plastic trim - not tried it as i've got a spraycan of "back to black" trim restorer to finish first

Wow... if I hadnt seen it wouldnt have believed it... brilliant... though I also sense the prospect of leaving it a "tiny bit" too long and creating a bit of a melt that would then bug me every time i noticed it

You might want to take the filler cap off before doing this though :rofl

Thanks!

The heat gun looks interesting though a few people commenting on the video have said it fades back?

My bumper's plastic and there's a section where it's damaged. I was wondering if I painted it, I could possibly use filler on the damage?

Which type of paint would be best, I'm presuming something like Plastikote?

I've used plasticote in the past. However, I redid front grills this week with Halfords matt black - looks fine now. Not much sanding required except where plastic was obviously shiny - generally a good scrub is enough as the surface is already matt from weathering. Just a case of removing any high points really. Grey anyway so primer not needed.

Was that a spray Covkid? I'd prefer something I could brush on if possible as I'm a bit nervous of overspray or making a complete hash of it, I guess if I mask everything up properly it should be ok....

One day I WILL get this van finished, I WILL, it just doesn't look like it'll be this week as it's going to be damp and cold in Manchester. Again. :?
