Well, I was going to buy this pressure washer....
http://www.biltema.fi/fi/Autonhoito/Pes ... 110-17073/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's €119 Euros, 166bar max pressure, and just what I was looking for....
Then the mrs said, hey, look at this Karcher. Its only €79 euro, it's quite small, and only 100bar pressure....(available locally) Model K 2.120
http://www.karcher.co.uk/uk/Products/Ho ... 731080.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My main reason for investing in a pressure washer is to clean under the arches so I can protect, and underseal.
Penny for them please on the above two?

Guess the Biltema one isn`t available in the UK. As far as i can see the reviews are ok here in Norway.
Got the Kärcher myself, enough power for me + it is small and easy to store. The hose could have been longer but othervise pleased. Beware that the connection between the gardenhose and the washer are prone to breaking, needs to be treated with care, avoid to much stress on the joint.

Ok, Karcher it is, and will take care of that joint.

Right, today whilst the sun was showing, I set about completing a job I had half finished

Greasing the petrol pump pedestal. Whilst there I measured my new pushrod against the old one, and the new one (100mm) and the used one was 2mm short, so greased the new one up, and slid it in.
Now here's a question for you Wasserboxer watercooled DG owners out there, I have recently started hearing what sounds like my exhaust blowing whilst driving, but having searched around underneath, I cannot find any leaks anywhere, and covering the tail pipe, the engine goes quiet, and stalls, which I believe is normal.?
This blowing sound is only evident whilst driving with the window down, and I can hear the sound, which sounds like an air cooled Beetle. This same sound cannot be heard when I stop, and rev the engine though. Am I going mad, and this sound is normal, but only just started hearing it due to recently having my window open?
Does your DG Watercooled do the same?
Thanks in advance.

Checked all the exhaust gaskets in the head? No signs of black smoke close to the gaskets?

As best as I could check, yes, and no signs of any leaks. As mentioned the blowing sound only occurs whilst being driven, coasting and revving does not do it, or revving whilst at a standstill. Puzzled.
Thanks for your response.

If I don't see any sign of black smoke I always try to tight a bit more the nuts, but easy not too tight, dont break it!!

... If that sound is the same I am thinking about, sounds like valve tappets... and I hate it!!

Thanks again, I will look more into this sound this weekend, but its rather odd as it's only heard whilst driving and not whilst tickover, or revving etc.

Didn't get chance to shoot a video yet, but today I experienced a backfire, (Never happened before, and maybe related to running out of fuel the other day) so set about inspecting the engine bay. Whilst checking things, one of the fuel pipes I replaced just last year had already started to deteriorate and crack

So I replaced it with new again. Strange this as its only been fitted for such a short amount of time.
I also checked the copper filter on the carb, its a Pierberg (sp) not a Solex one, and it was clear. I'm suspecting the petrol filter near the tank to be in a bad way. I do have another filter fitted in the engine bay, which I know I can remove as its not needed, but this is clean, no dirt in it.
My tickover was quite low too, and I believe it's possible related to the thicker oil I put in the last time I changed the oil. It's oil for a diesel engine, but its fine in the summer, but in the cold weather, I have experienced the tickover not enough to keep engine running when cold, but once warmed up, its fine.
Related to the above, I managed to adjust the tickover, the nut thingy was missing on the adjustment, so managed to turn the threaded adjuster with a pair of pliers, and happy with the result for now. Will certainly put the correct oil in this year, and replace the sump nut too, as that has seen better days.
Oh, I also put Fint through the local carwash, but needed to remove the door mirrors first. Came out lovely.

Right, I need to get a new petrol filter, the one by the tank, as today whilst driving along, I lost complete power, and stalled. Restarted no problems, but I do suspect that the filter is suspect exspecially after running out of fuel recently.
My Baxter will be getting some of my hard earned shortly

Mmm, cannot find the main fuel filter on Brickwerks, and can only see the inline clear one. Looking for the main one near the tank. Any recommendations people?

Found this on eGay, but listed for 1.9 injection models.
If the above fits, Im guessing that I can buy the one on BW as that is listed for Injection models too. The carb one on BW is that seethru type whereas I want the metal one.
