Bought these last week. Got some 25mm adapters on the way and should be here tuesday. will be having a look next weekend to see if i have to get the adapters machined down or not. I want to get them tucked in as far as possible and loose the top inside the arch. I think camber is going to have to be my friend :ok

hi there, loving your work. great job, very inspiring :ok

i hope you don't mind me asking - i see you have the rubber toggle latches fitted to your roof to fasten it down. what size are they? did you have to make some spacers to get them to fit to the body of the van? i have just got some 4" ones from a boating suppliers but i think they are too small.

any tips/info you could give would be greatfully received

thanks, billy

Hi mate, thanks.
The toggles are from JK and are a load of crap. I put up with them but will be looking for something else in the near future. Try and find some originals if you can.

thanks, i agree they're rubbish :( i think i might use them just to get the van on the road for the summer. will be looking to repeat your fine efforts over winter/spring.

did you have to space the bottom of the latches to the body?

cheers, billy

Just seen on the yard a pic of a devon with a toggle on the front holding down that bit that lifts up on the near side. I am going to do it. I thik it will make a big difference to the way it drives in wind.

When I had one I had a strap inside that i used to pull the top down and secure it, made driving it much nicer

I have one of them too Mick. The front corner still tends to lift a bit though and you can feel it.

My understanding is that the original latches are still available from Devon Conversions.

Failing that, something from this site should work.
http://www.protex.com/catalog/index/parent/Light+Duty" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This looks like the one.

Just need to check the dimensions of an original.
