Should have the soda blast kit tomorrow so I'll let you know how that goes too.

Just curious about the soda blast kit you have there ..... What are you going to sodablast?

The chassis, sills, wheel arches to name a few.

Have posted a reply on that thread for you

It's not the rust that's the prob it's all the underseal I need off.

I have a fairly good compressor.

Elvis: yes just now I have.

Rears aren't usually a problem.., wirebrush muck off of course, plus gas or similar, flank drive socket and powerbar or rattle gun, think they're about 70 ft-lbf

Were the old ones actually leaking?

You might have to put your foot on the bar, to first crack the nut or bolt free, then easy. If you'bve got a reasonable compressor, then invest in a rattle gun at least, could make life a lot easier for you, they're not a lot of money.

There's a lot of perfectly good syncro shockers been taken off and thrown away over the years, but if the shrouds are rusted through, fair enough, for looks if nothing else.

My thoughts exactly. How do you know if a shocker is knackered if you cant get it off to test it ? I have never actually seen a 'worn beyond use' T3 damper.

For one shock off now just fitting the new one.

After a lot of elbow grease and a couple of scaffold poles it's off :)

Presume that ratchet handle was only for removing once loosened & doing up loosely

I expect the MOT man will approve :)
