I can confirm that, i have not opened mine for 6 months and have just opened the paint tin after around 6 months. The paint had seperated, a quick stir and it was fine, this was paint pre-mixed with spirits.

Put into a much better plastic sealey tub.

Cov kid HEEEEELP, but before i start id like to compliment you on this fantastic thread, anyway my problem is that i started prepping my bus for re-painting about two weeks ago and all was going well until i noticed very small pin pricks in filler work done by the previous owner (thankfully only covering dents and not rust) I have tried using knifing putty but find the stuff absoulutly c**p as once i sand it back (with very fine wet and dry) the bloody pin pricks are still there. Can you or anyone reading this PLEASE let me know if the combicolor will make these disappear before i go mad. Thanks in advance

Covkid will know better but, as far as I'm aware, paint won't cover up imperfections. As to why the pinpricks are still there after you've applied more filler, maybe the new filler isn't sticking because there's dust in them thar holes - just a thought. If that was the case, washing the area and giving it a blast of air might help - but I'd wait for some more knowledgeable replies first!

anyone know if combi can be got in satin /matt

Cheers guys think you could have been right rainman about dust in the holes so blew them out with a pump with a football attachment, re-filled, sanded and hooorah no holes, my head is no longer wreaked, nice one.

Dreamcatcher, Rustoleum is no different from any other paint in respect to prep, which is everything. That said, it will fill to some extent but the key to getting an acceptable finish is getting everything smooth. I'd use high-build primer in a can to sort pin holes then sand smooth.

I got satin black to paint fuel tank & bumpers I think they do satin white as well.

Thanks cov kid, problem now solved and the prep work is coming on a treat so will hopefully start painting by the end of the month. The one problem I have now is the paint HOW MUCH......... paintshop.ie are quoting the guts of nearly 50 euro a tin + 10.50 delivery but im sure i read a post by you somewhere in this huge thread that you are able to get a discount from them, Oh and has anyone tried the moss green as im looking for a nato-ish look and it seems to be the closest colour.

First I owe you a big thank you for putting me onto roller painting through your thread which I read 2 years ago. when I saw Paint your van for £50 my first thought was we have got a joker here,I read it right through and phoned a order through to Southampton for the paint and thinners.I followed your instructions word for word and painted my t25 hightop with it.The end result was PERFECT regularly I am asked how much was the respray mate.The total cost includeing polish 240volt buffer, 4inch roller kit,wet and dry was £90.The qoute I got for a respray was £1400, So if we ever meet Covkid I owe you a pint or two.

well i have finally decided on ral7363 and ral9010 should be ordering in a couple weeks ! i hope it goes on like a glove !
