to me it scams that you being way to specific about the van that you want and if you going to stick to your spec you gonna be waiting a very very long time if such a van even exists and becouse of the spec you have set your self good vans will pass you by, if i had the money i would ne looking at syncrosimons or syncropaddys van but they are way over your price range but they are both fair asking prices for there vans, both lhd (which although mine is rhd would not put me off the right van). one is petrol, one is diesle. one is a modified (heavily) and one is near enough standard. both very nice vans but as said they are both out of your price range.
the words diesle and lez compliant in the same sentence send alarm bells ringing. i am only speculating, but the especially in citys (only london at the moment) emishion standards are only going to get tougher in the coming years, dont be fooled in to thinking that because at the moment cirtian diesle vans are compliant that the always will be.
as for it being a sole daily driver well mine is as are a few others, and i cant think of a time that it has let me down, but this is because constant and preventative maintenance. which cost both time and money.
remmber that you will not know what (if you buy one) you have untill you have had it a month and put at least a 1000m on the clock to give it a proper shake down.
my first t3 was a syncro, since then and now sold we had a very nice camper (2wd) there is no way that i could have another t3 unless it was a syncro. (i would conceder a sa 2.6 just because of the sound).

The German TUV test is much stricter than out MOT test. That doesnt mean it won't still have problems, even with TUV!

Alright Cooper my advice and another option would be to get yourself a nice post 85 2wd camper that will be in your budget enjoy it, and learn about fixing T3's, go to festivals (you don't need a Syncro for that) visit your mates, come to some Syncro events have a go in some of ours and learn more about Syncro's and recovery equipment and their uses, save up some more money and either
A buy a donor to convert your 2wd to Syncro
B get a Syncro box with a locker and fit it along with big tyres (that will get you out of most situations )
C sell your 2wd and buy a Syncro
