Petrol syncro's don't do it for me, the TDI really suits. Very similar to driving my works new Merc Sprinter only with less gears. Completely different driving style needed when comparing to petrol.
Coming home last night was cool. Driving at 60 mph on motorway, going up hill, press the accelerator and it speeds up. Can't be bad in a 2500kg, 24 year old over geared van!!
I love it. It is now the Westy Syncro I wanted. Very happy.

Just hoping for good MPG now.

Cheers. Standard 4.57 with 225/75R16 tyres. I probably will be leaving as is.
What are your thoughts on it after having the longer gears fitted?

Right I've brimmed the tank and want to work out true MPG. Does running larger tyres than standard affect the mileage reading?
I'm running 225/75R16.

Those tyres are 14.11% larger than the 185/14 standard or 1.35% larger than 205/16's
