Hi Paul,

I got it via eBay, from an outfit calling themselves 'Toeragstruckmats'. Not a very fetching name perhaps, but they did the deal without issue

It's not as difficult as you might think; for instance I really thought the headlining would be hard to do, particularly using a sewing machine to produce the seam to accept the metal suspension rod, but it was fine once I'd fitted the right sort of needle to it [a denim one]

I hope,to have it all finished by the weekend.. said he, hopefully.

We are booked to visit a mate oop north in Yorkshire so that will take 1st call I'm afraid. But there's no reason why it cant be done for the next bash as I'd like to meet a few of the 80-90 inmates. Besides, I owe quite a few beers....

Began to insulate the main floor area this morning.. here's a couple of the cleaned up floor with no rust [first time I'd lifted the ply floor as the kithcen unit was still inside] The dark stains near the water intake pipe aren't rust either , they are from the old glue off the original lining carpet. Honest, they are

And then with the insulation installed. it's been stuck down with some of the spray glue stuff that came with the lining carpet that I also bought for the van:



After a quick sandwich, I'll start on the flooring tiles.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I've been using 'Isopropyl alcohol' to clean much of the van up with as its realitvely non-toxic, but make sure you dont smoke and you have all the doors etc open.

I've been using the stuff for years to degrease my other hobby's parts with and find it very good for removing grease, etc.

As always, try on a test area first, wear suitable protective clothing, wash your hands afterwards, might contain nuts, dont flush while in the station, steel toecap boots, etc, etc

I got started on the recovering on the kitchen unit. I've not got it all completed yet, but here's on of the distmantled carcase:



I'll have it all done and back in the van by tomorrow night so more pics. then

Looking good! How come you used spray adesive to stick down the insulation? Is it not the sticky type stuff you used?

No, the insulation comes on a large roll and you just cut it & glue it on.

How does the price compare to wickes? I'll have to have a look.
I've added the roof liner from eBay to my fans, thanks for your updates Doug very helpful

I didn't check Wickes to be honest as from experience, they tend to be a bit expensive. But this stuff does seem pretty good. I'll let you know just how good & effiective it is once the cold weather arrives; we are supposed to be knicker-deep in snow next month..

Just had a re-look through the thread,
How did you do your cupboards with vinyl? You say thanks to kevtherev for the tip, would you care to share? Is it the cheap rolls of vinyl you by in shops to cover books etc or different stuff, have you a link?

It was Kev the rev who suggested the idea of vinyl as I was instead going to use real wood vineer.

Here's a link to the eBay site where I bought the stuff from, I spent about £40 in all, and it really transformed the rather tired old stuff I had before.

All I did was to completely remove all the interior furniture, take it all apart, de-grease it and simply filled and smoothed out any little chips etc in the original formica stuff, and then applied the new vinyl straight on top. Nearly a year later, it's still looking good with absolutely no issues.
