Good point, but couldn't you create a different fault? Or just tell them that the brakes don't feel right and that you are really concerned and need them checking by your regular garage.

Just got it booked in with watson diesel for tuesday, so finger crossed it's nothing too drastic

Have you checked there's not a very slight drip from any of the injector pipes at the pump head.. even 1 drop every few seconds can upset a TD so that it misfires like a petrol with a bad coil or plug.

Al (V-lux) knows all about getting into that crank pully bolt area... not an easy one to diagnose :evil:

going by watson diesel instructions on another way to check bottom pulley, it's ok. their next port of call was the pump, so instead of me taking bits off and having them tested (which could end up costing me more) its best if they take the van, then they can hear and see what its doing themselves and hopefully fix it.

had a friend listen to the video today, his money is on inlet manifold valve stuck open on one cylinder, so though we could have a little sweepstake. put your mark next to what you think

low compression.

pump timing/knackered. 1

bottom pulley.

OMG I need a new engine.

i reckon pump, as i always think positive :D

Yep I broke down too on the M5 :x

I got an oil burner so I could have more confidence when wading. :rofl ..only wish I could actually get TOO or BACK from an event without calling in the RAC..... Ive decided my 2.1 MV??....all is forgiven!!!

The WBX is smoother even than a new T5.

My bet is need a new engine, and just like on top gear the 1.6D n/a is following you...... :lol:

It'll be an AAZ if its knackered, I'm hoping It's not though. Not exactly flush with money at the moment.
Looks like a AAZ is easier/ cheaper to get hold of
