Shoking I shelled out over £400 this year from Newcastle.

Heading over to Bad Camber and Euro Bug in this Year. Wish they would just let me sleep in the van.

Just booked for Spring bank holiday weekend for my van and four peeps. Out Friday 29 April at 10.00am return 16.00 on 2 June - £91. I think we may well potter off to Belgium again for a day or two to visit Ghent and Bruge etc. Great beer, cheep smokes shame about the cuisine. Still we survive. I cannot wait to escape from 'the royal wedding' frenzy.

Good point PRD, ill be feeling pretty ill on the lead up to the wedding cos you can guarantee that it'll be all over the telly/press for weeks. I wonder whether there are any campsites in blighty who would guarantee not to show it, a 'wedding free' campsite! Id definitely consider staying there.

Ok fellas, it's interesting to read all your comments regarding varying prices & routes & I hope all of you find the bargains you're looking for, but I've decided that as I live just 20 minutes away from Portsmouth it would be daft not to use the route. Convenience is King in my opinion although the price for that is shocking especially when quoted one price last Thursday & only to book Friday to find out the price had increased from £526 to £568! To add more insult to the injury the price also increased again by almost £100 if I travel with the bike rack down, as it takes me over the 5m limit! So I took a deep breath & booked us on, & promised to have rack up & bikes inside the van for the crossing.

(Note to myself: New Mantra....Convenience is King!)
