had a long talk with a safe firm and learned a lot about locks and their uses and applications, glad i did as well , more later

That is the cable from the old split charger. It's now redundant due to the sterling charger. I left it in incase the sterling charger breaks when we are away so I could reconnect the split charger as a back up.

The safe is looking very substantial.

a young french designer saw the previous car in france last year (this was a body we done a few years ago) and always liked it and met up with him at a french meeting and one thing led to another so he sent hundreds of concept drawings and such to get a feel and these had to incorporate the centre body of the old series, it would be wrong to post the whole saga here but ive grabbed these few early ones from the screen hence distortion


from these and further detailed ones we could arrive at the idea shape, i then had this in my head and set about making it, bear in mind i had no measurements nothing so it was ...trying....
this is the raw chassis, with the only bits that applied to me fitted as in wheels engine steering and coilover location, i had no need of the front rear diffs etc as i know where they are and what needs to be done as ive built loads of them so how can i pout it, the purpose of everything is planned and allowance made for things you know will be needed

after setting it square and mounting the centre body from the old car to it i mke a frame to hold the sheet in the place i have in my head if that makes sense

i needednt be pretty or neat as its all going to be scrapped after moulding, some bodies i built had to be perfect as they were running in the ally and not moulded from

made a realy nice bracket / housing to accept the exp tank and top up , just ready to weld it together but first i needed to take the old air box bracket off as it was in the way , then..............find that the exp tank is pattern and a bit different to OE so modify the bracket and then

cut it out

vw banged some sealer in here and thence the tank /filler maybe anyhow chipped the sealnt off and no further issues

so sod it ,not welding on sunday im off out

Was made from a top steering yoke of a ktm I beleive

Not hard to make at all. Block up, pitch two holes, side cut with a ball-nose slot drill. An hour's work for a two-off.
