I refere to it as the lower swage, no I only make to fit a specific van as they are handmade and i need the vehicle for this
as the area is an interal panal as oposed to one where the reverse is to the dirty side ie arch then spot /puddle weld to a backing, no need to seam weld, yes the fixings ytou need to drill through , clerarance to the panal behind and say 5mm on the oputer to allow moving about then filling with weld

Cool thanks mm,so is it best to plug weld a strip of metal to the van and the to the new panel,and as I can lead load would it be ok to use filler?.
Thanks for the help,I shall try and find a doner panel maybe.

for ease,weld a strip to the van and then drill your new bit and puddle through to the strip you added.
no need to lead, filkler will do ok, .remember you are not stopping rot or water ingress, you are requiring a mmaterial that will give ytou a surface to paint
oh and beware of a cut as whilst they may look fine it is suprising how bad they can be under all the clag and when you get it peeled open :shock:

This thread is awesome!! just in the middle of 'chopping' jessabelle apart and these pics are just what I needed for a bit of guidance Image might be after some more panels MM your sliding door runner panels are the nuts!!
