Indeedy. :) Take another look at them at AO and go from there.

Shell gutters now thoroughly cleaned and new trim which I'd had on the shelf for 3 years. Excess sealant on roof from previous van removed. All prepped ready for adhesive next weekend.

Front sunroof has a slight leak. I'll silicon it shut for now as the shell hole beneath it doesn't exist yet so I can't use it.
The side windows leak a little, not surprising 'cos the window seals have fallen to bits. Looking at online catalogues to find the right profile to replace them.
Biggg sunroof seems rainproof surprisingly, but it will need removing, thorough cleaning and reinstall with fresh hardware at some point before the winter. Its double-glazed and the panels are beginning to separate so will need separating and resealing.

Dont use silicone on the sunroof frame, the acetic acid will eat the alloy and its plating.
PU sealant such as Tigerseal etc or Dirko would be better.

Oh the ignomy - gaffer tape over the seals for its first public outing.
The adhesive hasn't cured off enough for the top layer of UV resistant sealant. The perils of working outdoors in the shorter, cooler days which are damp in the mornings.

I saw this at AO14 - in the campsite - although no-one was with it. It looks even better in the flesh. The Dehler roof certainly has some style.

Well done!

Ta. I'm very pleased with it.
You're a chap with an engine bay I'd like to look at, as I'm swapping a DJ for an AGG this winter. Got your wiring diagrams thanks and would like to see an install in the flesh.

Patrick,
you are most welcome to inspect the engine installation. The van actually wasn't that far from yours on Saturday - just over the hedge in the day parking area. It is white with orange & grey stripes on the sides.

We are in Aylesbury, Bucks not far off the M40 if your ever this way. Or I'll try to remember you if we are coming Bristol way in the van.

cheers

Hello, i am new to this forum. Me and my boyfriend bought a Dehler T3 last year and we are rebuilding the whole inside. But unfortunatly we also have to remove the roof because of rust. I have been reading this topic and saw @syncropratrick say:

"Spent the day unpeeling roof from shell. Got all 3/4 of the way round. Thanks to MM for the tools, without them it'd have been a right pain."

I would love to know which tools have been used, because i don't know where to start with our own roof removing.

Thank you very much for any response en would love to read more on these forums.
