Well a long day.. got the gas tank back, seemed it had a snapped easy out in the hole

took an hour and a half and wrecked a cutting tool, but now helicoiled and happy

needs no words

the cooler works and fits fine but.... need to seal it from the engine bay , not looking airtight just generally separating it ,also have to be able to remove theis and also the cooler so a lot of thought needed and it turned out not to be so simple

first part trialed in
that was easy , the next has awkward contours to foillow and need to fit without removing any turbo hoses etc so ......playtime again

it works, took a few hours though

bonded rubber U channel round the edges ,this will stoip rattles and chaffing as welkl as helping seal a bit.
all in and happy

its tight in here but it all fits fine, i was going to fit the fan stat in here but the mounting bracket would have fouled the fan when trying to remove it so have opted to fit in the rear of the bay

its about 25c and i swithced the ign on and wound the stat up nfrom zero and as i got to 25-30 it kicked in, i have it ign fed through a relay so very happy with it.
fitted to new pad to the flap

of to take it for mot in the morning and have monkey sat inside to supervise

intercooler install looks awesome! really well thought out with how you've had to do it

being separated off like that should really help with any heat soak from the engine too. Really happy with how that has all turned out.
And hey, if monkey is looking on mr mot wouldn't dare fail blue!
silly Q maybe, but is the cover for the black relay box in the engine bay still around, Or is another needed?
Oh, and how much quieter is the engine now the foam is fitted to the flap? Bet you can hardly hear it

well went for the test today and failed miserably,by miserable i mean a stupid thing as in no dip beam

turned out the earth spade from the relay was loose on the earth crown, nipped up and sorted
got a witness too

genuine handle with a coat of paint, new gen gaskets as well

and this is a pattern handle .easy way to tell is the recess for the lock barrel is radiused on the OE and sort of flush on the pattern, also its the wrong shape so the gasket isnt the best fit in the world

gasket made for the spare carrier

not a lot i can say here

its coming together quite nicely

so mr lloyd has departed, sad to see it go as whillst difficult it was fun to do

and

and a semi scrapper in the background

so got away fine then came to fill up and after 50 notes

it leaked out ther fill pipe, so a quick mcall out and added another jubillee and sorted,
the ladies got extra garlic breads and made a pasta dish from fresh stuff out the green house but we had to eat it ourseves as london lad was away on his toes,
seems the intake temp stayed at the preset 50' and has been turned down to 45 to see if it will maintain that
