On a serious note, presumiously you will get the injectors professionly checked/refurbished and while they are out do a compression test. When checking bottom pulley also check idler brng. and tensioner brng. and definately check timing just in case something has "slipped"

Good luck !!!! Baz :ok

I have a set of refurbed injectors coming in the next day or so. Will fit them and see where i am.
How do i get to the bottom pulley? What does brng mean? And i will definately get the timing checked

Make sure you check compression before you refit injectors.remove all plastic from back of engine to expose timing belt/bottom pully/tension pulley brngs {bearings} etc

good luck :ok

New injectors didnt fix it so I popped round to see Lloydy after work. He had already pulled the rocker cover off for me so we whipped the exhaust off set the fly wheel to TDC, and the pump lined up for the peg to go in and the cam was lined up. We didnt have to adjust anything :?

I would have thought a trip to the diesel garage is next to see about low compression and maybe let them have a fiddle with the pump timing maybe?

At least we know what it isnt now

Started it up after you left, massive smoke cloud, i mean big. Drifting down the road. Didn't rev very nicely either to start with. Something is definitely up. Might see if i can find a diesel specialist somewhere closer. What's tony hines like with diesels? might give him a ring in the morning.
Big, big thankyou for popping over again jed, and also thanks to Al (vlux) for the advise :ok

Cheers for the offer :ok
would like to go to watson diesel in wimbledon, but don't think i want to drive it in case i do it more damage, so might have to find a mobile mechanic who's good with diesels
