I posted extract from Bentley but then realised I made a mistake - I posted the air cooled digijet version, and it doesn't correspond to the 2.1; in the 2.1 adjustment is done on the plate that carries the microswitch beneath the throttle body and the grub screw is not adjusted according to Bentley so I have deleted the earlier page and here is the correct one

I have another question this morning for the smart ones.
I have one AFM, part number 025906301C.
Because I bought this separately, I'm unsure whether it came from a Digijet or Digifant van.
Did they differ between builds, and if so, does it matter?

Not sure it matters. AFM is the same whether Digijet or Digifant (or even Aircooled) according to my Bentley. It's the ECU that is different.

Oddly, mine has some weird extra bits...
Just looking at some photos online - I have no idea what the additions are for. I noticed it while giving it the once over.
I'm doing some testing of resistance between pins 2 and 3 while flap is moved. That is all over the place too, so uniform opening doesn't result in uniform resistance change. I'm guessing that will be a problem for starters
I will post some pics of my odd additions, and if it isn't there due to the disparity between digijet and digifant, then I can only assume someone tried to make some mods

That odd extension thing is a backfire protector it saves your AFM from getting destroyed in the event of a backfire.

Not sure mate. I didn't have one until Aidan sorted me mine. Having said that I don't think these are a VW thing.

OK, I've had a message advising it is all LPG kit...
Makes more sense now, and aas I don't have LPG I will be deleting it.
( First dibs to Maxstu who PM'd telling me what it is )
The air temp sensor seems to work. Pins 1 + 4 have resistance that drops toward zero quite uniformly as I blast it with a hairdryer
Resistance between 3 + 4 is a touch over 500 ohms, which is in spec.
Need to open it up now I think, and work out why the resistance change between pins 2 + 3 is seemingly random as I move the flap.
I'm hoping that it's just dirt and not an issue with the carbon strip here.....

I think it’s DJ, I just took the top cover off to get to the screws holding the AFM onto it.
That spacer thingy in there is also LPG I think.
Those tubes lead into the spacer, so I think it’s how they feed the gas in

What's your resistance range across pins 2 and 3 while you move the arm across the carbon strip, Stuart?
Mine starts low, increases sporadically, then goes low again....
I'm not convinced that's right. Just opening it up to give it a clean and blow out.

This is a spare with a bent flap. So no acccurate reading. And l really dont want to take cap off my good one on the camper.
