Don't you believe it! The EJ is already becoming a "classic" engine with parts prices & availability to match...

One of the main reasons I've backed away from this idea.

Now that I know where I can get a proper VW waterboxer made, rather than the untested jet-washed ones available everywhere else, I see little reason to mess about building Frankensteins Monster.

what is the EJ20 like. from a 2000 model 2.0 Legacy? Has anyone one of these. THere doesnt seem much on the wiki about them?

EJ20 is a good engine and one of the most common engines to use for a conversion.

Well, camper has gone off for a new engine. I guess I could continue to mindlessly burn about as it's quite a quick little DG, but I'm in a good financial position for now so best get it done. I'm hoping to get a 2.1 in there, probably a rebuilt DJ running on a carb but waiting for guidance and direction from Andrew at the Campershack. Best engine builder in the game! Be nice to my wallet please mate!
