it is, but when you think about it,usually you have steel to fill a hole so to speak ,next steel to support something like jp's etc and then you have to ensure the above is in the correct place so all fittings locate as they should and that you can still align the geometry. hence fiddling to get stuff replicated as per OE.
the bits will be fine after the w'end, im looking to get this done tomoz and then make the other small items while the paint dries . looking forward to putting it back together. i got some plated 10.9's for the lower arms with nylocs,so all sorted on that front

OEM subframe fixings have dry loctite on the threads plus serrated faced washers. Not sure in the grade but the lower arms are defo 10.9 (metric fine series)

will take some decent picks tomoz ,couldnt finish the last bit of weld where the chassis joins at the rear as this gave up

a load of choddies dropped in and fused it up, ive cut it of and remade the end but then teatime got in the way,
ive some picks of it butchered out, must get a spare torch as it will always fail at night or weekends
yes it a bit picky heavy but hopefully tyhey will be of use as if i left one angle off it would be the one pick that was needed
cut/made these stainless pins up this aft,as they will be needed on the job...

leave it to dry overnight then a rubber coat and back with the suspension, will inject the cavity as well

Well had a break from the mucky stuff

glad we spokke before it goes up and under as

bracket is a bit bent and its not in line

this allows the hoses to cross with no stress and also the cooler can be removed with the bash plate still in-situ as it lifts out the top and the hoses crossed as they are allow enough to not need to disconnect until core is out, not a big issue down a surrey lane but out back and beyond it may help.

the carge cooler rad i have modified to fit neatly at the top and is also easy to remove, i have had to cut one of the water pipes of and reposition it, picks to follow.
and as a footnote, i really hate s/hand oily greasemonkey bits,

Dont think the DLA bracket is bent...the pin in the diff is drilled offcentre, so the vac unit should be kicked over. About 2-3mm iirc

hmm dont show it in the pick but the bracket looks like the diff has dropped and pushed it uop as it has a clear sign of it, and tom says its not actuating correctly so will remove clean and inspect, hows your one doing

Maybe the CV has picked up a rock and dragged it past? Anything is possible but if it doesnt work properly...
I am picking my way in to Atlantis. Snatching the odd hour after work like all driveway heroes! Front chassis legs def aok at the bottom, cut out sides and stitch in for less work all round.
PS front jacking points are a tragedy mind you!

Well lifted the very nice isri seat out and removed the swivel base as things are happening here

i was informed that the diff lock had an issue as shown yesterday, well the actuator is fine but

a quick call to aiden confirms the seal is missing along with circlip allowing the sleeve to move
as you see in the wear marks

the switch had been shimmed out to compensate but it didnt help

so now
